What's new

Every change to ExpenseMe, newest first.

3 October 2026 — Free and Plus have changed

Free now covers logging every kind of entry, your Google Sheet and dashboard, categories and budgets, Home, Entries and Breakdown for this month and the next, your Health score for this month, and five receipt scans. Plus adds every past month, comparing months, Bills and debt, Insights and asking a question, notifications, inviting a collaborator, unlimited receipt scanning, written tips and score history. If you already have Plus, nothing changes for you, and anyone already in your household stays in.

3 October 2026 — Delete your account, public pages

You can delete your account from the bottom of Settings. It removes everything ExpenseMe holds about you and cancels a Plus subscription straight away; your sheet stays in your Google Drive. It works the same for everyone. A collaborator also leaves the household they were invited to, and the sheet stays with its owner. ExpenseMe also has a public homepage, pricing page, a page about the sheet, a privacy policy and terms.

3 October 2026 — Screens glide, bar fixed in the installed app

Opening a screen from More or an entry now glides in from the right, and coming back glides in from the left; switching tabs still cross-fades. The bottom bar now reaches the bottom edge of the screen in the installed app.

3 October 2026 — Phase 4 fixes

Removing a collaborator, accepting an invite and Stripe billing events are now handled more carefully on the server, an invite tells you plainly when you already belong to another household, and a Plus plan you have cancelled shows "Plus until" its end date on the Plan screen. The band under the bottom bar in the installed app is gone.

2 October 2026 — Invite someone, Plus plan, smoother screens

You can now invite a second person to your sheet, and there is a Plus plan with billing under More, then Plan. Moving between screens glides in instead of lagging, and dismissing a tip, deleting an entry and marking a bill paid now have short, smooth animations.

2 October 2026 — Edit categories on Budgets, amounts clear when you type

Expenses and Planned income on Budgets now have Edit items like Bills: add a line (pick a category or type a new one), rename it everywhere for the month, or remove it, with the option to archive the category or move its entries to another line first. A 0.00 amount now clears as soon as you tap it, and any other amount is selected so typing replaces it.

2 October 2026 — Roomier Mark paid, tidier Budgets, no double payments

The Mark paid sheet has more room, scrolls above the keyboard, and keeps the cursor inside the amount box. Budget lines are laid out with the name on top and the due day, budget and Remove underneath, and a bill removed and added back no longer shows as paid twice: it comes back ticked, and Mark paid asks before recording a second payment.

2 October 2026 — Receipts, insights, health and notifications

Snap a receipt and the amount, shop, date and category fill themselves in. Breakdown shows your month by category with a compare-with month; Insights shows your pace, top shops and this month against last, and you can ask a question in plain English; Health and tips gives you a score with the reasons behind it; and notifications (bill due tomorrow, over budget, weekly recap) can be switched on in Settings. Removing a bill line now asks whether to remove its payment too.

2 October 2026 — Payments block beside the tracker

Bills, debt, income and savings now live in their own Payments block beside the tracker, so the tracker shows spending only. In the app, Entries opens on your expenses, with a Payments filter (and Income, Bill, Debt, Savings, Refund and All) when you want the rest.

2 October 2026 — Skip a bill for a month

A bill, debt or savings line can now have a $0 budget and stay in your list, like a property tax that only comes some months. On Bills and debt it shows "Not this month" with a "Mark paid at $0" button, and it counts as paid without adding anything to your spending.

2 October 2026 — Fixes from the first day on a phone

Quick-type now fills the amount when you press Enter or Go, entries have a Refund filter, and the Add button no longer sits over the keypad. Marking a bill or debt paid closes right away with the confirmation at the top of the screen, and a new month now brings your budgets, bills and debt along so you do not refill them.

2 October 2026 — Phase 1: core loop

Add, edit and delete entries on your phone; track your month on the Home screen; browse entries; manage categories and budgets; mark bills and debt paid; create new months. Data syncs with your Google Sheet.

2 October 2026 — ExpenseMe begins

The first build: sign in with Google, create your ExpenseMe sheet in your own Drive, and see the app shell with a demo household.
